How it works:

The Automatic City Water Bypass, also known as a Quick Connect Panel or Switchover Panel is installed near the equipment and plumbed into the chilled water supply/return loop. A sensor activates a series of solenoid valves when the chiller is not functioning correctly, isolating the chiller circuit and allowing domestic (city) water to flow to the process. An alarm is triggered, notifying personnel of activation.
